Surely steaks should be flying off the shelves now that people are stuck at home? All Irish firms down 10p, I’m sure it’s pure coincidence.
I have been told they want it down to £3 so they can put more of the carcasse into mince as that is where the demand is currently. Steaks are slow to shift atm especially as many are shopping online now as social distancing is making supermarket shopping inconvenient.

Probably the easiest thing to cook and definitely the the tastiest meal, ideal for families?
Were they reducing the steaks or putting them on offer?Should be, but the last 2 x I've been for groceries there is no rice or pasta. People are going to be living on spag bol & chilli.... So many never got past that level of cooking after uni.
Got some nice ribeyes for tea myself
It went down a treat...What happenened to steak and bj night !?!

Sat at home on 80% wages and considerably less outgoings...They don't have the money since the majority are off work on either no wage or reduced wage. It's as simple as that !!!!
Farming outlook is always uncertain...it doesn’t stop farmers spendingBut with the outlook uncertain wouldn’t you be cautious?

I think you’ll be alone...people will want grazers now matter whatWell the beef outlook is very uncertain, guess who isn’t buying any stores until he thinks the bottom has been reached?
I won’t be alone.

Nonsense. Stores prices will remain strong well into May to meet the grass flush. Strong stores were in demand in the run up to covid19 and grazing cattle are in high demand same as usual for the time of year. Beef will go short when everything opens up again and everybody comes out to play. I can see the autumn sales being as dear as we have seen for a long timePersonally think it’s going to be a bloodbath, I hope I’m wrong. The markets might as well cancel next weeks store cattle sales anyway.
It probably will as everybody celebrates being alive and out of isolation. Feelgood factor will see a massive bounce in many sectorsThe way I have seen some performing at very recent reduced-numbers Store sales, you'd think fat is going to be £1600+ by autumn !!!!
