Massey 5465 fuel tank leak

Just taken the cover off the pipe joining two fuel tanks to find leak.
Turns out to be bodged job disconnecting one tank, not sure why you would want to disconnect it.
There is no hose tail on main tank and hole appears odd shape, circle with flat bottom.
Question is do Massey do a replacement hose tail and how do you seal it, and why would you disconnect 2nd tank.

do you mean the hosetail in the bottom of the tank?
Ours got broke doing some forestry work - replaced it with a standard brass on.
If the hole is out of shape, maybe thats why its disconnected?
Try putting a standard one in and use some thread sealant (i use low strength loctitie or similar)

Yes, horsetail at bottom of tank. Hole is circular but so close to bottom of tank that bottom of hole is flat. Not going to get a good fit of anything round. What's the bext thing to stick it with?

how about use a smaller fitting and fill up some some form of epoxy?

or
can the hole not be made round again? does it have a metal threaded insert?
