No he budgeted a 16K profit For the farm 400ac.The 16k profit was just on his field of Linseed.
My kids spent hours with me when small in the parlour or tractors, grandkids love it here too, the one who lives nearby is 31 months old knows all the bits of kit by name, friday he came round while I was not in the yard, I came back to pick up the Turner to turn headland swath in some barley, he came round the corner with granny, saw me and I saw him say grandad and literally jump off the ground with joy as he knew he would get a ride, seat belt on and told exactly what to do,re not touching stuff etc hse would go mental, but as granny is a health visitor and spends her working life dealing with kids that suffer abuse, neglect or live with drunks and drug addicts I know where the risk is.Just thinking about this, as i've seen a few tweets over the last few days about how we shouldn't let children into the harvest field, let alone have a round on the combine. I got a PM last year asking me to remove a picture of our girl sitting in the jump seat on the combine as it contravened the spirit of farm safety week etc.....
It seems to me a sad state of affairs when we can't even let our own children see the harvest in action, what real risk is there if we bring the combine to a stop, lift/assist a child on, strap them into the spare seat and let them have a ride?
I get that there is a risk, but there is also a risk to letting them play contact sports, or ride a horse etc.
About ten yr ago i grew that red wheat, which only produced about four seeds in a full ear.No he budgeted a 16K profit For the farm 400ac.
The linseed was 70 ton under budget. He said 25K under budget.
Now we have Peas that look worse than that, about 30% of pods have no seed in them, of the remainder they have between one & five seeds per pod.
Now a neighbour got less than half a ton per ha. Thats a fair guide.
You don’t need to be to smart to work out the loss on them.
I guess We will have a post mortem thread when it’s all over.About ten yr ago i grew that red wheat, which only produced about four seeds in a full ear.
It did about half a ton per acre
No one ever worked out what went wrong
Same here.what I’ve done is dreadful ...
im amazed at a lot of these big yields.what I’ve done is dreadful or well below average and people I spoke too talk of equally poor yields aswell.
nick...
He could have cut it off nick...Start of the wheat.

Cut my worst peas ever , by some margin this afternoon, 3 ton off 6 acres! Hope the next 94 acres aren’t quite as bad :-(
I have this pain to come with Winter Beans and Spring Rape ( my own fault, I know )I feel your pain. I have a week to wait for that same pain.
400 acres, with 115 of linseed I think, which yielded 45 tons. Contractor drills with a claydon and does the spraying, so plenty of time for his car collection. I do enjoy his videos though.I was actually guessing more given the combine he has in the videos, although could be a contractor cutting the linseed
Pretty sure it will be a contractors combine as well then.400 acres, with 115 of linseed I think, which yielded 45 tons. Contractor drills with a claydon and does the spraying, so plenty of time for his car collection. I do enjoy his videos though.
