Definitely agree on WD40 it cleans but doesn't lubricate, use a proper chain lubricant. What’s the basic maintenance things I should be doing when my new bike comes?
I currently wash Bertha when dirty with muckoff, I used to spray wd40 on the chain but after the last service the man advise I use squirt chain lube? I don’t overly rate it, my chain is significantly rustier looking. He applied it for me and said to re apply every 100 miles in the wet or 500 in the dry?
Anyway I’d like to look after this one a little better but I just have no idea what I should be doing after each ride/monthly/yearly etc
That makes sense. I ordered muc off chain cleaner and dry lube in the end. Even ordered a brush to wash herDefinitely agree on WD40 it cleans but doesn't lubricate, use a proper chain lubricant.
I am using Muc Off dry at the mo. Rode in the rain a couple of weeks ago, the following trip out I didnt bother to lube the chain, did about 10 miles and the squeak was getting very annoying,I stopped in a shop and bought some 3 in 1 oil, perfect squeak gone. Was looking for olive oil I thought that a more likely find in a village post office. That makes sense. I ordered muc off chain cleaner and dry lube in the end. Even ordered a brush to wash her
Finally worked out who you are on hereOn Sunday me and friend set our self a challenge to do 100 miles. So went to the Severn bridge and back. Had to a few detours around the forest of Dean to get the miles in. Also called into a dairy farm i know who had started selling milk from a vending machine. Also ice cream as well. Had to try it out.
Well done. Its all well sign posted aswell.Had a trip abroad today

It was a tough trip out following some speedy people. Lots of climbing especially From Ventnor to Freshwater

Did you stop at the spyglass in Ventnor? If you do it I don’t recommend the gravel track into Yarmouth. 2 punctures in a few hundred meters.
Originally we were going to do the Randonee in May. With one thing and another it was cancelled so we did it yesterday anyway. The route is clearly marked most of the time but it is also on the Randonee website so I downloaded it to my Wahoo.
If you stop for lunch by the sea in Ventnor it’s a big climb out afterwards. Very pleased I didn’t have a beer.
