if the lad from cupar can afford to send cattle to Darlington. Would it not pay to send them north? But the trade is far behind...Phoned ABP for a grid today...oh how many have you he said...well if your weight deductions are still in place..non i said...just an excuse to let them know...he mubbled thats the problem..i already had a grid as well
£2000 for a fat beast,£200 for a fat hogg, and Wheat at £200/ton. Milk producers are twerps because they have no MMB anymore,or milk would be £2/litre.Maybe @jre knows the story? Full marks to Darlo, they seem to be doing a tremendous job. How long before something grosses over £2000? @Northeastfarmer, don't be shy. You're a man for rash predictions!
Happy days are here again£2000 for a fat beast,£200 for a fat hogg, and Wheat at £200/ton. Milk producers are twerps because they have no MMB anymore,or milk would be £2/litre.
Have you died and gone to heaven?£2000 for a fat beast,£200 for a fat hogg, and Wheat at £200/ton.
Its where the prices should be.Have you died and gone to heaven?
After 2 years we'd be no better off than we are now. Just with bigger overdrafts around our necks...Its where the prices should be.
Twice as far so twice as muchif the lad from cupar can afford to send cattle to Darlington. Would it not pay to send them north?
How much is it? Anyone know?Twice as far so twice as much
All my cattle usually get weighed on a Tuesday when I sort them for Thirsk on Thursday, they usually lose 14-24kg. It doesn't matter if in market at 6am or 1.30pm the still lose the same, usually sold around 2.30.How much weight did your cattle lose from home today then?
Yes agree my best heifer just worked it out think it would of been u+ at 63% 419pkg 65% 406pkg miles ahead of deadweight65% =403p so on the money as northeast would do that % and e grades are just about there especially for heifers
Im not wanting to argue or upset anyone either but... i went live with lambs first couple of weeks of july this year with my best sorts and sent ofhers dead same weeks...i was between £5 and £8 better dead for my type of lambs....i worked out if i took them all live i would be around £5000 short by the end of the season .I'm not saying this to deliberately upset people but it's something I feel very strongly. When you see how the live markets system is pushing prices upwards, anyone who has been selling dead weight rather than live in recent years should be hanging their heads in shame
Give over, it's not that when you try to sell woolshedders, lambs with woolly heads etc and the buyers pull faces and do their level best to pull them back, when you know those lambs will do perfectly well when they hang them up. I sell both ways, according to what I think is best for my business. I won't leave myself out of pocket to please the likes of you!I'm not saying this to deliberately upset people but it's something I feel very strongly. When you see how the live markets system is pushing prices upwards, anyone who has been selling dead weight rather than live in recent years should be hanging their heads in shame
But you have an obligation to save British farming, you selfish man!Im not wanting to argue or upset anyone either but... i went live with lambs first couple of weeks of july this year with my best sorts and sent ofhers dead same weeks...i was between £5 and £8 better dead for my type of lambs....i worked out if i took them all live i would be around £5000 short by the end of the season .
So its alright saying go live but what would anyone else do in my situation?
Bit harsh. As much as i would like everyone to sell live i dont think the markets we have left could cope with the sheer numbers if everybody decided to sell live.I'm not saying this to deliberately upset people but it's something I feel very strongly. When you see how the live markets system is pushing prices upwards, anyone who has been selling dead weight rather than live in recent years should be hanging their heads in shame
If I'd of sold my cattle live over the last 2 years I'd of got less for them. Even now there's not much in it, between our local (55 mile away) market.an the abattoir 15 mile away.I'm not saying this to deliberately upset people but it's something I feel very strongly. When you see how the live markets system is pushing prices upwards, anyone who has been selling dead weight rather than live in recent years should be hanging their heads in shame
