We did ours like that a couple of years ago and the sheep loved it when on the stubble turnips!

Spring barley is 23% and sprouting. Cannot catch a break this year. Not dried at all today
Sheep will love anything on the turnips, and the more you take them, the more they blighters will like it

Hoping to move to another farm to finish wheat tomorrow, not looking forward to it as there is a lot shed on the floor.Then onto OSR drilling but fear it may be too wet after the deluge that is August.Wet straw in swaths also a hindrance.

Finally made a start , 12 acres of continious wheat . Jb Diego 21 22 % moisture nice bold grain no idea what yield but 4 full trailers and 2 bins in the last
Depending on how its weighing it should finish up around 3 and a half ton dried . Hopefully tomorrow will stay fine and get another field or 2 cut and straw baled .

Been to look at the last field of barley, the ground is very wet wont travel very well, the grain gas started to shoot and at 3 o'clock the moisture was still 23.5% these been bugger all dry out today and I can now feel dampness in the air so I cant see it going tomorrow unless we get a few hours of good sun.
On the plus side the barley is still standing reasonable well and isnt on the ground yet, its breckled to become a blanket 10 inches from the ground which will combine nicely of it ever dries up.

Has anyone got any figures for what it costs to dry from 20 odd % to 16% in an gas fired opico, just gas costs really my time ect doesnt count as such.

No one and i should have said barley.
I've got loads in the shed at 13-14.5% so if I could dry the rest to 16% I could blend it away..... hopefully.

In a late October style.
Top bales off stacks are nothing more than mushroom compost bound in less than two weeks from baling.
Peanuts.
Great to see some decent dirt.
I'll put up a pic of what ours is ploughing up like when I get another moment to spare.
