That the Ballymena Mart job they were advertising on Facebook?

That's the one. Used 30 of the posts here as a guinea pig, easy enough to hammer in with the post driver. Obviously heavier and perhaps a bit slower to work with than timber posts. Too expensive which I have told them but seems to be falling on deaf ears at the moment.

Roof blew off half of shanty town last night.
Luckily the next 56 are ready to depart.

“AI is cheaper than natural service”

ha! I like the simplicity of bulls. I recall you were going to try a bit of AI in the past. How did that go?

Shite,we suffered with timing, kept pulling lots out bulling but they kept on coming over, bull came back after a rest and more or less stopped them all,I’ve 75 straws of blue I need to use but not a lot of confidence in going back to the tech.

Feeling quite chuffed for myself this morning, managed to get the heifer and calf out of the field before the three cows realised there was a calf for the taking 😁😁😁

Always satisfying when a job goes well when sometimes it can go so very very badly!!!

Got a third calver and her calf out of the 11 - cow maternity unit no problems yesterday but instead of walking to the collecting yard, she then did 3 circuits of the shed and adjacent barns, ploughing through the 'pretend' electric fence (baler twine) that is supposed to guide her, charging through undergrowth and even venturing into the scrap heap. Wasn't even running after her calf that just stood still for 15 minutes - and she saw it every time she did a circuit!
