Been trying to get winter barley drilled up last couple of days, down to the last 20 odd acres. Hopefully get back on some wheat later this afternoon.

How does the Primera cope with maize stalks? You're on that lovely red dirt which is cheating.
Anything still attached to its roots just pulls straight through, but some longer stalks do bridge across the front until the toothed closing wheels catch it and drag them under.
I must admit the soil is in excellent nick this autumn, hasn't been slotty at all which our soils are quite prone to

Not seen that drill before, checking it out now 👌

Sloppy and wet on top. Almost as bad underneath. No further progress on any kind of land work for the foreseeable future.
There are some awful messes as I have driven around this week. Bit of death by roller' and some fields of sludge. This heavy rain has started to do damage. Still plenty on ploughing puddles in and following straight behind with the drill. The weather over the following weeks will decide whether they or right or not IMHO
