There are some awful messes as I have driven around this week. Bit of death by roller' and some fields of sludge. This heavy rain has started to do damage. Still plenty on ploughing puddles in and following straight behind with the drill. The weather over the following weeks will decide whether they or right or not IMHO
only rolled 3 acre and wish we hadnt done that !!!, all thats been sown is now emerging or well chitted .Have been a bit concerned about capping but seems weve got away with it as up until today its been showery since sowing which has let it emerge.
Today having been patient and not tried anything this last couple of days are currently sowing that which was ploughed this morning and are ploughing another bit of tougher land for hopefully tomorrow or sunday ,if it doesnt rain overnight early start tomorrow to try and sow either that we are currently ploughing or that even tougher stuff which is slowly drying after being ploughed more than a week ago.
Bloke I used to work with when a teenager used to say why is it we are always working weekends, seems nothings changed as most of our harvesting or crop establishment has been done weekends this year ,good job we can call on a couple of extra hands when needed

Just out of the workshop after much debate. Padco CO4 MSF (Mount, Stretch, Fold) Dutch 2 inch openers. Beans into Essex clay, first dry day after 136 mm rain in 17 consecutive wet days.

Now I have drill envy. Thinking of doing something similar on an old Rolamec I have laid in the long grass.

There’s a few in Kent, very underrated drill in my opinion, Amazone don’t seem interested in pushing it.
Had a contractor to drill OSR and Beans years ago with one, really good drill
What with Amazone not pushing the Primera and Vaderstad not pushing the Seedhawk it’s like they think we’ll not notice DD and keep buying Topdowns and combi drills ??
Totally dumb marketing approach...

+1 ! Admiring the slight bounce and vibration in those tines which create some tilth.
Currently I’m having to run a spring tine ahead of the DTS to try and drill beans, learnt last year if DD’ing it would quickly create slots drilling beans due to its rigid legs - that setup looks great

couple of showers through the night and then no breeze but ph away again now 12 acre to finish this field that we have been in 3 times and the first bit is well out and the next bit is in rows with the few rows we did last monday chitting, going to call it glorified extensive trial plots hopefully ph will get into another field around tea time with drill not far behind till we get stopped again ,could be a late night though forecast showers again, getting there end in sight 2 more good days needed

has that been widened to 6m? did you alter the wing hinge frame strength at all or just weld 1m extensions on each side? thought it could be done with any CO4 when drilling rape with narrow points wouldnt be too much extra stress on each side.
