PCR test is for dna , it doesn't tell the difference between live and dead virus

The PCR test is for RNA not DNA and there isn't really such thing as a live or dead virus, it's viable or not as it needs a cell to reproduce. You can culture a positive PCR test sample if you wished to confirm it's viability, but this is only really viable for research purposes as it would be slow and costly.

I am no conspiracy theorist but the Coronavirus Act 2020 was the thing that gave me pause to question the government's response to the virus. I'm not so sure about worry being undue because it sets precedents for wide-spread control and erosion of our civil liberties, even more so than during WWII. Yes it's supposed to be time-limited to two years and maybe back in March I would have believed that, but not now.

The petition to repeal it is still going and has reached more than 101,000 signatories but I think we all know there's no way the government will allow more debate in parliament, particularly now there are stirrings of revolt by MPs.

I am slightly uncomfortable about the amount of power Boris, Cummings and their close entourage have amassed as a result of Covid-19, allowing their continuous bypassing of Parliament and civil service rules and protocols.

802 on the day - looks as though Covid is on the move then? Hows the hospitals - filling up?

Not as bad as it was in the first wave, better prepared although I would expect non-urgent work to be cancelled if it carries on as it is. Nottingham are struggling for capacity.
Bit weird that we started flat lining & dropping during the Tier stage and now its gone the other way, people eh?

And in other good news our City Mayor didn`t ask for any of the rapid testing kits. Belligerent political tosser.
They could have used them for the staff to help them out a bit!

Yep, they've set a powerful precedent. They'd do well to remember they work for us, and we are policed by consent.

From what I've picked up out and about, people are unimpressed with Boris and Starmer so unless Boris gets his act together soon the time is right for a whole new populist party to emerge.

Not so much, just that people seem to be getting more fed-up than ever that there's no party to represent them. I reckon a Common Sense party or a Silent Majority party would do quite well if those up for election weren't career politicians and not the sort of people usually attracted to political office.

I thought that Farage fella and his sidekick Tice were riding to the rescue? No doubt with Oakeshott and Lord Ascroft riding side saddle.

He's as shameless and opportunistic as they come, but once again I think he's spied an opening and after all, there ain't much point in a Brexit party anymore. He thrives on convincing people that their voices aren't being heard and at present, he may well have a point.

And you can see why he has no desire to be an MP or in the House of Lords. Despite many on here hero worshipping saying he should be PM or a Lord. He is much happier as a subversive terrorist. Popping up to stir.

Tested Monday told 24-48 Hours.

Still no results... Told can be up to 5 days, then they'll look it. .. Missus missed 3 Shifts up to now on the ward... Loads of shite about wanting screenshots of test dates results etc from management.

You'd think that if the person is living with a Keyworker it'd be fastrac'd... No let's just take our time and loose a nurse off the wards.

Tested Monday 2nd. Positive Test received Wednesday the 11th.

Rapid Stuff.
