you mean when you are prospecting for a wife ? Or is it to be remembered to chastise an existing one ?. I can assure you though that things are very different now - with "wimmin's lib" and all this modern equality thing , that what I called feudalism is a dead duck now ! Rightly of course .Book marked for "future reference"
I have to tell you that , despite all the foregoing , some of it a bit (well, a lot) tongue in cheek , that we worked a 50/50 partnership in all things , work or finance . We had one private joint bank account , and one cash wallet - If I went out , I took it , if she went out , she did - I well knew that she wouldn't blue it and neither would I - we both worked too hard for it for that , and I reasoned that since she had earned (at least) half of it she was as entitled as I was to spend it ! In fact , when things were a bit tight financially , it was often her determination that carried us through , and if things were worse than that , she could often be relied upon to produce a £20 note from the depths of her purse that she'd squirrelled away against such an emergency !

To put the lamb trade into perspective, the difference in value between a wagon load of lambs that went the last week before Christmas and what they’re worth for next week is over £15,000.

Yes I have some ewes that do produce the best (no I shouldn’t have said that) very good mule lambs (not as good as Swales) my lad doesn’t rate Swales

I wonder where all the know all’s are that were arguing on with me about beef and lamb being at world prices and would never go up?
I bought some of them Hexham mules years ago as ewe lambs. Sold them as 3 year olds with lambs, they where a picture.

Yes better bodied sheep all together and Bonny heeds if you are into that sort of thing
I prefer the blackie mule to the swale mule the swale mules are too fine now getting like holsteins

It’s a bit like many more things in agriculture
The people that design these things aren’t anywhere near or to be seen when the rest of us are trying to put what they’ve designed into use
I think about this on different themes every day
Exactly. Iv just been cussing a bunch of narrow nc mules that seen to have melted (but that might be because they where fed like hell before they came and not pulling the grass at 2000 feet!)
