It is crazy tho what ive mentioned surely most folks in the eastern side of the atlantic can see my reasons here.

Anyone wish they never had to deal with forward selling?!!!.... or maybe even heard of it !!..... I think I might change strategy to keeping 50-60 % post Christmas! It’s not a knee jerk reaction as I’d been feeling this way past couple of years but haven’t followed through...

carefull changing stratagy can be more dangerous

i sell post harvest now but would not say wait till the new year especially in years when sheds are full after harvest

this year brexit clouded the waters

despite this we have known the harvest was going to be short since november 2020

How deep do you plough, how wide is your combine header and how wide is your power harrow? ;)
Not wanting to canabalise this crop thread.
plough width & depth Inches as its on inches on the width scale & inches is easier on the aye on that dual scale Tape measure !!
Header is 24ft as the salesman said it was & i believed him.
PH 3 & 3.5m as that what there sold as.
Neither matter as once again all these measurements are crystal clear on every single TAPE measure since day dot.

YB- I get the feeling consumers are buying hand to mouth, with plenty of cover Feb, but I bet there's still stuff to cover March, April and somewhere in the trade they will be very short physical wheat May-July. 6 months till UK combines role, and with little harvest pressure, I think we could still see a few little spikes yet.

will high prices reduce the number of chicken fed in the spring and summer
the broiler egg producers have been on reduced production since last march

or will the cheaper barley keep feed usage up till harvest

by which time pubs and restraunts will be back open

Fair enough but with respect grain markets are driven by China , USA and Ukraine/Russia... I do wonder though ,what all the quantitive easing or money been pumped into markets to help economies during/post Covid is having... Feel it’s having some affect as all commodity-markets are rallying... I’m sure there’s people on here more learned with an opinion on that !

Same here. I spend half my life trying to convert one to the other. I think I'm at the stage where I prefer Kg / ha to stones/cwt to the acre

There won't be much reduction in demand before harvest. Can't see a rush to flog beasts for the sake of a few £££ a ton. Fixed prices, contracts, lack of abatoir capacity etc.

due to the virus my annual road trip to the snow covered alpine meadows means I wont be able to judge the state of the winter cereals across holland and germany ( which has stood me in good stead in the past)nor from the snow depth will be able to judge snow cover towards the urals but now nearly every city has webcam footage for what its worth kiev has no snow cover and its freezing so a possibility of winter kill nb you heard it here first
