I’ve 4 Deere’s and 2 deutz here I’d strongly advise cancelling your order if at all possible my new deutz has been one massive heap of sh1t from day 1 worst purchase of my life!! The older ones were bulletproof in fairness!!he had sold one of identical spec in November to a near neighbour, so had a go in that.
I prefer my Deere, ...
Dealer had three out last yearWow are you the first brave person to buy the ideal? Hope it goes well and Agco look after you
I’m guessing you’re a dry land farmer?err, 800 ha ( 2000 acre ) arable, all zero till.
my machinery lineup consists of a NH T8040 with about 9000 hrs, about 4 different planters, a T6010 loader tractor, an 80 tonne mother bin, a 90' x 13" swing away auger & a grain vac.
i use long term ( 20 - 30 years relationship ) contractors for spraying & harvesting
now that the T8040 is getting seriously fudgeed & i dont want to spend money replacing or rebuilding it, I am seriously considering using contractors to plant my crops as well.
machinery is a HUGE expense, which only ever depreciates in value & costs money in repairs - it is getting increasingly difficult to justify owning any
the one thing i will ALWAYS own though is grain handling equipment & if i decide to get rid of main farming tractor, then i may very seriously consider a truck ( artic HGV for the UK crowd ) to help with harvest

How much would it cost to drill 2000 acres, possibly twice a year? Over here it's £25/acre. Probably a bit less on that average. 50k at least? Get a good tractor for that.err, 800 ha ( 2000 acre ) arable, all zero till.

Do you need 300 horses to pull a 12m direct drill on level land?$45 / ha, farmer supplies fuel
that sort of money would buy an old high hour ( 300 hp ish ) tractor, just like what i already have
i think S/H tractors are a lot dearer here than UK
Why not recondition your 8040? It's only done 9000hrs$45 / ha, farmer supplies fuel

£10 an acre + fuel , quite reasonable I'd say$45 / ha, farmer supplies fuel

Saying that, with a 12m drill you should be covering 50 acres an hour , then it's not so cheap£10 an acre + fuel , quite reasonable I'd say
