Covid Vaccine Roll out.

Here's my view on this. The place I took Dad to have his jab was not ideal. A minor, not even B road and an old stone building with a gravel car park. It was absolute chaos.

Now. Who has done well out of Covid? We know who. They generally have massive amounts of tarmac so why, if it's such an emergency don't the govt demand that supermarkets, Amazon etc. depots and so on give up space in their nice flat parking areas to create vax tents? They all have all the traffic capacity in place. Even some council car parks could be shut down for a bit and parking fees removed for other places during this so called crisis.

Are we serious about this or not?

That's what I mean. The place I took Dad was not fit for purpose. St Boniface Ashburton or maybe is Buckfast. In the middle. Stupid place to do it on a fairly fast back road which the A38 or Expressway or whatever replaced. Much better places they could have chosen. they are morons.

But have you volunteered to help yet? According to you, EVERYTHING is being done wrong but what positive thing have you contributed to improving things?

I'm shielding my father as I live next door and do all his shopping etc. Should I put myself in a place with thousands of infected humans each day? I'll look after my own. My contribution to improving things has been cancelling my BBC license fee and Sky subscription and probably leaving this forum fairly soon.

Now, volunteering. I have served on the parish council for many years (yeah, brown envelopes blah blah) which is unpaid and takes a lot of work to help people. I am a member of another organisation which is discrete and in trust which was set up to help vulnerable people in winter time. I've taken a person who I have known for years into my home who I considered was in distress and sorted a whole lot for her for no monetary compensation. She is a hundred times in a better place than she was. I'll help anyone if I can and the good news is that others feel the same as I have had some help with stuff when it went a bit sideways.

I am not saying EVERYTHING is wrong. I'm saying that the place they chose to give my Dad the jab was stupid. It is stupid. It's undeniable.

Super markets are busy enough with out adding to the traffic
our local vac centre is in a sports hall
we would all like to just visit the village surgery as we do with the flue vaccine
but needs must
2 million this week
3 million next week
if people cooperate and don’t complicate the logistics 5 million a week in februarry
every week sooner saves lives
and billions extra for UK plc

Drakeford drip feeding them out to keep the vaccinators busy. If they ran out then those people would have nothing to do.

I'm not feeding the dog anymore in case I run out of dog food mentality.

One thing would do much to improve the vaccination program, and have another needed effect!
Get all the overbearing revenue raising police off the roads, parks and recreational areas, turn the custody suites into vaccination centres, and staff them with the afore mentioned revenue raisers! No need for training in this and that, they already have it. Doing this would do much to polish their very tarnished image.
