Blood sucking ahdb

Thanks Highland Mule I can see the number but I still can't understand how or if the ahdb should know how they voted if it is a anonymous and not in the ballot form. There has been no mention of them collecting other details,This must be a data breach.

They will likely have passed on the (probably anonymised) details to the polling company. Knowing how large organisations work, I would be very surprised if it breaches any rules, but if you’re bothered I would contact the polling company.

I’d guess they agreed they would like to know sizes, levy band etc and sent a file with that and the numbers to the bunch, to give the data the ministers would want. Something like:

Ballot #, Levy band (0-£10, £10-£5k, etc), etc.

Thanks I will contact UK Engage to ask what data they are collection for the potato ballot. I think it should be only yes or no

You should ask them what data they have about you. That would be interesting- I think the phrase is “subject access request”, so maybe google that for a cue before you contact them.
I have just emailed UK Engage "I have received a ballot form for the ahdb potato sector and I am concerned about other data collected other than yes or no.Could you please confirm that the only data collected and past on to others is my answer to the ballot.". I will try “subject access request” later

Just had a reply to my UK Engage email. They say the only info past on is the total vote cast and how they voted and I quote "We do not declare how each business has voted". From this I assume ahdb will not be able to play the total levy paid trick they have used in the hort ballot.

Forgive my sceticism, but I am not convinced they understood your question - which wouldn't have been helped by the way you framed it and your poor spelling.

well if that is the best Ali capper at A ha

simon W you will have to let what highland mule is saying go over your head , he doesn’t even pay a levy. On a more serious note I see the Sutton bridge is going to be sold after the potato ballot ,so much for all that storage work they keep banging on about.

Unfortunately some of us didn't do very well at school but the answer from UK Engage is clear "We do not declare how each business has voted".If this was the same for the horticultural ballot how did ahdb know the levy paid by voters. I will get all future posts proof read by a well educated person in future.

I was trying to help - not that you would ever accept that anyway, nor recognise that you need any.

Have a think what exactly you want to know, and go from there. If AHDB had given UK Engage the list of members (which clearly they have done, else you wouldn't have a ballot paper), plus some idea of size for each member (which they might have done), then they can easily provide the same data analysis that happened for Horti, without declaring how each business voted. Hence my suggestion to find out exacty what information they hold about you.

So learn a lesson and ask for help from someone who is fully literate, if the email you are sending is important. They don't to be well educated, but should know the difference between "past" and "passed". Whilst spelling isn't always crucial, it is if you need your message to be unambiguous.

Well thanks for the "passed" lesson it reads like you are passed

it appears Adrian Cunnington has staged a management buy out which has been turned down , he has now been put on gardening leave , we only live a few miles from Sutton bridge and have known for quite a long time that they wanted to shut it down, they only want third parties doing research they are not geared up to do this stuff themselves.
