All these people saying this tractors more expensive than that tractor ect ect ect it’s quite hard too validate an 8S ordered brand new built too spec could very well be the same money as a fendt that’s on stock tractor sat in a dealers yard or already on order ... but I doubt a built too order spec for spec tractor would be the same money... I know pughs in Shropshire had a lot of 718 and 824 tractors in on stock not too long ago that were a hell of a lot cheaper than if you ordered one built too spec ...

I think many things do the price of a tractor and brand. For the first country for example, My neighbour buy a used Fendt 724 Vario S4 (2016-2000h 230K€) and I buy New/ish MF 7726S Dyna-VT EX (2020-50h 206K€).

The second thing is how long you know your dealer and how many deals you done. (My neighbour change maybe one in 5-6 year, and I change one every year of the same dealer)

And the last and most importen thing i have learn is witch model the "Mother ship" in your country want to brand/sell that year and do a big discount (The last two year in Sweden that be 6715S and the last year 6718s)

I know it is to diffrent tractor me and my neighbour buy, but his is around 250hp and mine 280hp, but maybe in UK it is the other way that a used 7726S cost more than a new Fendt 724 i dont now. But i have allways think Fendt is the most exclusive/expensive tractor you can buy beacuse of the price in Sweden.

Dyna 6 tractor have a gearbox problem on the higher hp tractors this is a fact of life
Not every one fails but yes they can have a fault with 3rd gear but got in time it is a straight forward repair and doesn't cost the earth to fix unlike the prices you have quoted from your personal experience.
Other brands are also available with commonly known transmission faults (y)

I am little curious beacuse i drive MF witch model you mean have a gearbox problem in Dyna 6? I understand you are a contractor so drive maybe 3 times more then me with your tractor how are a dairy farmer. My oldest Dyna 6 is a 7718 2016 and I not have had any problem, but after read what you write maybe i press my luck and need to change before a brakedown. It is intresting to hear other people experience about things.

@dee What are the early symptoms of the dreaded Dyna6 fault? Would like to know in case it ever rears its head.

You will have little bother with a 7718 especially a farmer owned machine.
I know of ones with high hrs and no gearbox trouble.
On the large frame 7720 upwards 3rd gear can fail.
You will usually tell when it starts to crunch or rip selecting 3rd gear.
If its got in time the repair bill is modest

poor old speedstar, he is still bitter about MF,please man up save us all some crap, every post about MF he turns into a slagging them off, Fendts are not bombproof, my local JD dealer seems to be be gaining a few all the time, 724s/720s replaced by 6250r etc

939 in for a 6250R locally here and that’s a fact..

The main problem Is in the bigger frame tractors, very few 6480 with have had gearbox problems ,all so the software in the newer 76 & 77 tractors is not as kind to the gearbox ,if you look at the data on them you can see as the hp goes up so the gearbox fail rate , I hope this answers your question

Thanks for your answer and sounds good that 7718 seems safe, but good to now about this👍
