It's proper "tits out" weather now. Jugs aplenty in Lincoln centre.
I cannot ever remember such a long cold dry spell in April before and I have been lambing at this time for over 50 years.
Plenty of frosty mornings when you drive around and leave black marks on the grass but the days are normally really warm. This time the North wind blows from the east or west and is relentlessly cold with the temperature briefly getting to 9'C in the middle of the day if the sun comes out after nights as low as -5'C.
The forecast is little better with cold nights continuing and days might get up to 12'C and not a drop of rain, less than 4mm this month!!
Grass has stopped growing and it looks as if March will have been warmer than April will be.
Been lucky here 8mm including snow melt the other day had gone through spring drilling
Did we get any in march?
Already doing that in town , not that I’m looking with the Mrs in the car.Aye, few more days for the soil to warm up. The local lasses will be wearing next to nothing soon enough.
