I was going to say “you’re not the only in the same boat” but that sounds like an insult doesn’t it! Many will not get to travel on grass fields for at least 2 weeks after it stops raining and we get warmer days. June could be a busy month for many. Same picture in many parts of Europe so I am told.Exactly the same here. The optimum cutting date for perennial ryegrass never varies by more than a day or two either side of the 18th May. It doesn't depend on temperature or anything but on day length. So yes, the grass will be way past its best by the time the ground is fit for the harvesting machinery, especially with the weather forecast not showing any promising weather window for another 10 days. I've too farms in the contractor's queue in front of me, which is two to four days work, which suits me fine because it won't tempt me to go before the fields are fit, which I would be and under pressure from the contractor to shape up if I was first in the queue.
Apologies @Hilly .hit the wrong button, meant to say wow. How come you aren’t getting the bookings? My holiday let is dead total dead I have one booking this year and that’s a carry over from last year .
Have you thought of silaging the lot and keeping the cows in ,or even zero grazing . Be a lot less messExactly the same here. are you sure ? BBC forecast for here wet sun, mon then dry til 4th of June and the rain normally bypasses the coast and drops its self here!Yes, its not a bad day today but my grazing land is still totally saturated after yesterday. More heavy rain tomorrow I fear. And heavy showers or rain now forecast for the next ten days, changed from a dry week forecast up 'till yesterday for Monday on. Wet wet wet!

Can’t say I blame him , I get loads of really nice people but also get my share of total toss pots as well, dealing with public is a tale of to halves I find either absolute pleasure meet great interesting people or total opposite ..We have a friend who had a very successful B and B / Self catering fit up done to a high standard if anyone complained he gave them their money back in full and told them to pi@@ off immediately
Ours are let through an agency, and while we occasionally grudge them the 20% commission, we don’t have to deal with any time wasters or f..kwitts, and we are as busy as we can cope with. The admin crap they go through on a daily basis justifies us paying themNo idea All I get is time wasters asking
