This heat is really making the wheat shift now.
Reckon we'll be another two weeks here afore WW is ready, plenty of green. Not seen many going around here, a friend got into some WB yesterday but has now stopped as not fit.
SB is certainly on the move here mind but again 3/4 weeks away yet.
I did think to start a "Not Combining yet" thread!!! It seems alien not to be this time of year with this glorious weather

Yes. There's ready, and there's properly ready. There's a lot of green, which is good as I chucked a lot of T3 on. But these last four days has moved some on lighter land a proper bit.

This last week of 20+ has really moved stuff on which is nice, I like August harvests.

Spring barley and winter wheat 3-4 weeks away, rest of spring barley 6 weeks spring wheat god knows when :)

All barley done locally I’d say . A lot of rape still green or only just getting sprayed . early varieties of wheat on lighter ground is altering fast

What are yields like ?
Can you still use neonicotinoid seed dressing ?
My neighbour reckons about 2.5 t which for our region he reckons is quite good. Winter barley also above average. Mind you, they get excited here if wheat exceeds 7t.
Neonics are out as are a lot of other products, which is why cereal crops are so much dirtier than they used to be. Neighbour complains that UK farmers still have a wider range of chemicals than he is now allowed to use.

Nothing else ready now for a week-10 days depending on the weather. Harvest has been a pleasure up to now I just hope it continues like this!
Couple of pics.

This hot dry weather is dragging stuff forward, I’m guessing Extase could be ready by the end of the second week in august on this farm.

My Saki is looking about like that as well, might beat the bit of skyfall I had left over from 2019 in the middle of another field.
