The future for Phosphate restrictions concerns me more than Nitrogen actually. Many farms on sands or where history of chickens/pigs have P indices 4 or 5 on some or all fields. Now that would put cat among pigeons if those fields became unusable for manures for in effect decades. Just thought would lob in that little Gem!
Very good point. Mixed farms with a n intensive livestock enterprise that have utilised their manure for years will likely find they have P&K levels in excess of index 3. In these situations no application can be justified.
What’s going to happen to all the ?
Or is it, as some have suggested, an underhand way to decimate livestock production?
The issues raised by this are simply huge and the level of common sense being portrayed is woefully inadequate.
