Agree that it was not a straightforward reply. But Guy is having to defend the RT position, that is his job and what he is being paid for. I don’t know but I would imagine that his reply probably went through RT Comms team first.
You only have to look at his responses on here in the past to see he is good at saying nothing at all but changing the subject and defection

Trouble is for any of the red tractor staff if they did a u turn and agree that the job was a complete dogs dinner and wanted binning they could no longer represent the firm that pays there wages.

pretty much the same as a JD rep rocking up and telling the farmer his product was crap and he should buy a Fendt instead.

So really Messers Mosley, smith and the rest of them either have to continue banging the drum or hand there notice in!

I disagree.

The NFU and RT have got to distinguish between customers. It is right and proper that they continue to support assurance and have full confidence in it with regard to the general public who are customers to us all.Undermining confidence in British produce must be avoided.
But they should also acknowledge to their farming members[also their customers] that there is understandable dissatisfaction and show a willingness to address the issues raised.

Much the same as the JD rep wouldn't say a particular tractor was crap but that they were doing a software update to improve some issues.

Guy is a reasonably smart cookie.

And obvs he works for RT. Still, it's quite obvious people will see through the answer as being deflationary, waffly and avoiding answering the issue.

Surely Guy could predict this wouldn't go down well with readers?

Just simply admitting there's a problem with RT would have been sensible, but no.

He is smart, he's clearly smart. Seemingly not using his brain atm. Those sort of answers won't go down well, but surely that would be obvious?

All of the RT employees and the top tier in the Nfu couldnt sleep straight in bed if they tried. They all know full well how farmers are being robbed and are happy about it because of their pay packets.

RT employ me. I’ll take guys £10k a year salary and shut the Ponzi scheme down. I’ll take 10 mins and then I’ll donate the £10k to a charity helping farmers in need.

He hasn’t got the minerals to come on here and face reality.

There’s loads of WhatsApp messages flying around between groups saying at the next ag show everybody should turn their back on him when you see him. He’s not a farmer anymore.

That’s unfair 😡
Whatever you might think Guy has engaged on here more than any othe individual who holds high positions in representative organisations. He has argued the case for the organisation he represents. What he doesn’t need is the unnecessary personal abuse and vitriol thrown at him. We may disagree, sometimes strongly, but we should still afford him or any poster respect and decency.
You may disagree with this.

The problem is with Guy he’s always virtue signalled he’s a farmer therefore the farmers friend. When at the Nfu he did have a decent backing because of this. Had he just gone back to the family farm this wouldn’t of happened.

He’s stepped into the RT role and knows it’s wrong having previously admitted it but now months later is positively denying the issues and pushing the RT brand. If he’s only earning £10k a year from it then he should walk away to save face. If he carries on down the road he’s going then I’m afraid I’ve no sympathy because he’s a turncoat.
