Why can't these people just say "you're right, we'll work to fix it". We'd say "OK, great, you messed up, but now you're fixing it, fantastic".

But no. Just waffle.

Think FW print article is same as web article, which is here...

The fact FW are highlighting the issue should ruffle some feathers

Non assured should be priced equal to imports. RT should get a premium that at least provides a 4:1 return on the costs.
Exactly that. Not rocket science is it.

RT can exist, pesticide declaration equal to imports can exist.

They just want the money. It's obvious, and readers will work it out, just like everyone on this thread has.

If they're smart, they can save 50% of their business. If they're not smart, they'll all have to resign. RT, NFU AHDB.

They're backed into a corner. There's no way out. If I were them, I'd change tact and agree wirh us ASAP.

What's he talking about. I don't get his argument.

We say we want AIC to allow UK grain to have same intake requirements as imports. Guy is waffling on about government, neonics, and watering down RT rules to lowest common denominator is bad.

We're not talking about lowering RT rules, we're saying we don't need RT at all to supply to a feed mill in same way as imports.

Is it just me?

The bloke doesn’t know his head from his arse and is nothing short of incompetent as well as being well out of his depth.

He doesn’t mind the cost of assurance to his own business because he’s been riding the NFU gravy train and now the RT gravy train.

To be fair to him, he is in a very difficult position. It's obvious what's wrong with the status quo (all their songs are the same), but it's his job to look after the interests of his employers; so he has to keep saying what a jolly good scheme it is for everyone and "look there's an aeroplane over there!" Or anything he can think of to change the subject.

If Guy smith and Jim Mosley had anything about them and were truly confident of the red tractor brand they would be saying

“competition by way of a pesticide declaration, bring it on”

then they could show us all how good red tractor are at commanding a premium for there world beating standards,

However changing the subject and waffling on in true political style does nothing but confirm there lost at sea on a sinking ship!

He’s just in it for the money because his extortionate salaries from both Nfu and RT more than make up the short fall of the shafting of the scheme on his own farm. In other words he doesn’t care one iota because his ‘diversification’ salary keeps coming in every month.

If he publicly came out and said yes this is totally wrong and left RT he’d get some credibility back.

I wonder if he realised what a scam this was when he took the job on. He did point out the co mingling thing, but has since gone very quiet about that.

He is said to be paid £10000 a year by red tractor, hardly a king's ransom. In hindsight, I bet he regrets taking it on. He has gone from being the farmer's friend to persona non Grata in a few short months.
