£48/50 a tonne ex farm

I agreed 40 on that basis in August, but it should be less now as plenty of bales sitting forlorn. Depends on relationship.

Tell the farmer you have had prices quoted between £40 and £50 ton so to be fair to you both you think its worth £45 ton.
If Fert stays at current prices then straw yields next year will be a lot less than this year and that is if most of it does not get chopped!

Barley straw 75-88/tonne in Goostrey today
Wheat, dirty £64
Hay £110 I think
Haylage £60
Helped a mate and got lumbered with nice eating barley straw at £78 so not worried about that, and the load of haylage at £60, equates too £20.10 a bale delivered in the yard. Nice gear, off a good farmer. Not just left too grow then harvested.
