@milkloss - It might have been that people that were doing a really good job in a bad place and were underpaid got a better job, somewhere that appreciated them and paid right. When COVID was over they decided not to go back.Just like every other company that used furlough to kill supplies. When they restart everything will be in demand and double money. Thing they didn’t bargain on is furloughed staff getting a second job (loadsa money) or retiring and probably not going back to their original job they were furloughed from. Essentially these firms shot themselves in the foot.
allowing workers to get a second job while on the COVID dole was the biggest mistake IMO.
Some jobs seem to have suffered in the reboot that COVID caused, people found better things to do to earn their wages. I'm guessing it isn't benefits - but I am not sure what it is.
