why not just say so then, its a wonder you could resist aThat’s the name I was told as well
So he didn't resign, he decided not to stand again. So the spin is "Mr Mackintosh will formally take up his new position in November, when fellow farmer Andrew Blenkiron’s second term comes to an end after almost eight years"

Self control dear chap, self control plus I was told in confidence.why not just say so then, its a wonder you could resist a
When I came to renew my NFU insurance a month a goit’s doesn’t really matter imo - the NFU are quickly only becoming relevant to themselves
themselves being a rapidly decreasing numbers of actual farmers anyway

Sounds like someone has been putting a whole load of spin on his decision!
I smell
No doubt he was, but he hasn't resigned, he has decided not to stand again. He was a dead man walking in his role for many SW farmers after his performance and outburst at the RT meeting held at Cullompton a few years ago. He didn’t gain many friends from this area that evening.
Yes I got that from a journalist friend I messaged last night. That's the official lineSo the spin is "Mr Mackintosh will formally take up his new position in November, when fellow farmer Andrew Blenkiron’s second term comes to an end after almost eight years"

In a year where Nitrogen fertilizer is £650/ton I reckon there may not be a huge quantity of milling wheat grown as it needs extra N to boost milling quality
now I don’t know the figures but I’d bet U.K. won’t be self sufficient in milling wheat next season
so that will be interesting
I found this:
UK threat – Global Food Security
www.foodsecurity.ac.uk
When you look at who "Global Food Security" are, it appears to be mainly governmental departments ...
and of course, which NFU person will the NFU put in to replace him.
You say "we also cost RT 250k of funding". We didn't cost RT a penny. We cost the the non farming union the 250.either is better than nothing
we have a method now - social media, it’s asking a lot of very awkward questions and we are seeing them crumble when unable to provide a straight or credible answer. NFU are loosing members who are voting with their feet as now aware of what’s going on and Red tractor were unable to push through their gold plating plans this spring in face of a clear building revolution by farmers, we have also cost RT 250k of AHDB funding this year. ……….. and we are only just getting started, there are ongoing complaints to ASA being investigated involving large supermarket customers who will not be amused by the mess RT false claims will have created for them I’m sure and we have some shocking emails accessed under a freedom of information request between AHDB and RT we will publish soon
actual opposition is not really possible, the barrier to entry has been created so high that it’s almost impossible so holding to account is the method we choose
Well I am outspoken and say it as I see it, I have never been taken to one side and spoken to or told to be nicer or quieter.
Perhaps the SW are used to a more militant membership?

the nfu are grea.t at county level thats the issue people see them at shows etc and they get people joining up etc. There just seams to be a massive gap to the next level that people cant cross to improve the nfu, thats what there good at people face to face at shows and protecting the higher level
look at that list of leaches living on our backs, how many do we support? Thanks. It's not just us two though, in fact far from it.
Behind the scenes there's a group of us working together. Forum members have been compaining about the backstabbing incident, writing to AHDB, NFU, AIC, RT, MP's etc.
Too many people involved to mention individually, but certainly a very determined group effort
