Steel size for removing a staunchion(post)

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of someone who could advise on steel size for I know them a carrier beam. Basically needing to do away with post in middle of feed passage in picture.

Plan Is to put beam between legs of new shed then beam across under eaves beam then cut out leg.
Now there is next to nothing at the bottom of the old leg, Web has rusted right through so I'm thinking not as big as beam as I was thinking.

The old shed span in 35ft.
The gap between old and new is 2meters.

The shed builder was 15 months late doing the shed so would rather get on with it ourselves as we able to do it just need adequate steel size.

Thanks. Matt

If i was doing it for my self i`d use 10 x 5 H iron or what every the modern equilevant name is for it now . Put a good size haunch on each end and it`ll be fine . Your only removing the corner pillar . Would be carrying double the weight if you were removing a central pillar . That`s what i`d do and not give it a second thought after .

Gutter Purlin looks like it needs ripping out and replacing too. What about taking roof off skewing apex around on a bit of angle haunch then put in with new longer leg set back where next leg is on new building make a three cornered bay that makes it all look tidy. Would need all new longer purlins I know I would do it in Zeds and have them made to length. Bit of faffing but would make it look right imo

True Would be the best option once done.
