Cut Friday, raked and baled early Tuesday morning. So less than 4 days.
No tedding 5 times either. Not touched till raked at 3am

I see! How long was that on the ground for? Would like to grow some at some point, do you turn it much because I've been told that leaf loss can be bad if you're not careful?

And yes, that's why you don't touch it if your making hay.
And also why I rake at a ridiculous time in the morning. Mid summer means little dew, so need to be early to try and negateeaf loss. Baling can be tricky here. Timing it as the dew lifts and getting it done before its completely gone and your back to 5% and getting huge leaf loss.
Very fine balancing act.

Some people will rake it a day or 2 before they bale. I find if you have a heavy stand then it won't dry properly and the biggie for me here is window damage from wind or thermal uplifts (whirly winds). After all, where I live has hosted numerous gliding world championships. And there's nothing more infuriating than seeing a whirly wind rip right across a raked up paddock.

Apparently so. Itās a project by my landlord. I had asked if they could just put rabbit netting on the stock fence but apparently not. Evidently the tree guards can be sent back to the manufacturers for recycling in 4-5 years time.

I ran the ewes through the race this morning, drew off the singles, the few barreners and put everything in their lambing yards so I can cake them.
they look good , guess its been a good winter for you sheep men , good luck come lambing time.

Thank you, they are in the main in good nick. They have all been in at least a month, I always run out of grass around the beginning of Jan and normally the ground conditions dictate they have to come in then anyway.
