I don’t know whether that’s genuine or not but it’s largely meaningless. About as useful and futile as all the words such as “not looking away”. What’s that supposed to mean? We aren’t looking away but we are doing very little.
We’ve offered them every possible assistance except actual help. Pathetic and embarrassing. Probably because if we are honest, we are powerless to do very much without everybody losing everything.

they should muster all the tanks they have and deploy then in the eastern european countries of nato
they are next to useless parked at bovington or some us camp in utah
we all need a big enough deterant where it is of some use
or by 2029 the other small countries will be picked off one at a time
the nuclear deterant is of no use in a conventional non nuclear conflict
this mistake was made in the 1930s it too till 1955 for food suplies to be plentyfull
and 10s of million of people lost their lives because of lack of preperation and strong enough defences

You are probably right, but how long before it happens?
Soviet leaders through history have been prepared to inflict terrible suffering on their own people if it is for the benefit of "mother Russia", maybe with the internet etc those citizens might be less tolerant today.
As I've said before, dictators don't tend to have a retirement plan.
