Back 10p on the weekThat’s not a total disaster by the sound of it? Only a few pence down?
Chicken a luxury….someone must be deranged…if it’s as dear as steak then beef will be going up rapidly….
Ludlow hoggs 2.76sqq 750 in
That's not so bad. The quality of what I might go through to go tomorrow wouldn't be the best.Quality would be dipping a fair bit now
Can only be a good thing for beef and lamb.
It always was historically. One of the promises of one American president in the early 1900s was a chicken in every pot it was so expensive it would be like promising everyone now could afford to eat lobster. No one could afford to feed corn to poultry its why they were all slaughtered for Christmas (and thanksgiving in America) as you couldn't carry them any further into winter feeding them grain. Beef and sheep could be kept all winter on some sort of grazing and cheaper hay.Chicken a luxury….someone must be deranged…if it’s as dear as steak then beef will be going up rapidly….
Let’s hope it gets as dear as beef and everyone eats beef insteadIt always was historically. Now that sounds like my kinda weddingLast wedding I went to they sat me with 11 royal ag collage students, they learnt more about sheep farming in the evening than they could ever at uni. I drank 3 bottles of red wine, punched one in the face and promptly fell asleep. That was a good wedding.
I know that's why I put it was youIm not from jockistan man im from the grim north and sound like this .

Just waiting for @piper80 to put his trade up, taught him everything he knowsBetter go in Welshpool than last week
People seem to forget that beef cattle will be converting concentrates at 7 to 1, chickens will do it at 1.5 to 1, if chicken goes up like that beef will need to go through the roofChicken a luxury….someone must be deranged…if it’s as dear as steak then beef will be going up rapidly….
What about native breed cattle that can get fat off grass? Chickens cant do that.People seem to forget that beef cattle will be converting concentrates at 7 to 1, chickens will do it at 1.5 to 1, if chicken goes up like that beef will need to go through the roof
I don’t think the country will be fed off native bred cattle…What about native breed cattle that can get fat off grass? Chickens cant do that.
Let's be honest on the grand scheme of things its niche, there won't be many finished cattle that haven't eaten a tonWhat about native breed cattle that can get fat off grass? Chickens cant do that.
Well we always used to be. There could be a big return to that way.It doesnt look as if £300/ton grain is going to end any time soon.I don’t think the country will be fed off native bred cattle…

Only bit to add to that is chickens indoors need a bit more electricity and bio security and the 7:1 cattle can or will have eaten some grass so the end figure will look much better than thatPeople seem to forget that beef cattle will be converting concentrates at 7 to 1, chickens will do it at 1.5 to 1, if chicken goes up like that beef will need to go through the roof
