If someone could find the threads from 6-9 months ago when some were saying there will never be a food shortage due to war.
Every one is bitching about the NFU push for exports but food prices are going up worldwide and there are markets out there willing to pay more than UK supermarkets for our produce. We need to find them and start selling to them to improve our lot. Are the adhb, essentially part of the civil service, really going to give 100% to this and push up prices for UK consumers? I have completed their survey and made the point that this should be their top priority and best use of our levies. You should do the same. Supermarkets could well be our saviour - just not the ones in this country. 🤔

All this effort on a system the country cannot afford and neither the public or farmers want. Have said before, scrap it all, give us a bit of protection from imports and use the money saved to help the poorest in society.
It could all be sorted by placing strict controls on food imports so that they have to comply with all of the sh1t we have to comply with. There would be an immediate food shortage, an almighty carry-on, and supermarkets would suddenly have to pay a realistic price for everything. Subsidies could be completely withdrawn and DEFRA/RPA disbanded with huge savings put back into the public purse.

Every farm in the country would suddenly be viable again, and supermarkets would have to go back to selling actual food instead of the horrendously processed crap they source from ingredients/chemicals from every corner of the globe that is making everyone so fat and sick. What’s not to like?

Its here already
Have u been asleep since feb?
Nope, although I haven’t been shopping for a couple of weeks but there was plenty of food on the supermarkets shelves then.
Granted stock levels of some items were lower and some things sold out but I had no problem filling my trolley with enough food to last a couple of weeks or more, I don’t expect the situation tone any different next time I go
