Standards are not these days like what they used to be:(:(:(
Nope, it annoys him no end. But he does say that we can’t afford too muck about brushing the yard like he did. But he used too make a living out of 20 sucklers 50 feeding bulls & 500 ewes plus feeding and dealing in a few Welsh lambs and he employed a lass for years. Better worker than any bloke he used too reckon.

When I was a kid every Sunday afternoon Grandad and I would brush the yard up. Good 2/3 hours of a job. Nowadays it gets scraped with the slurry scraper on the merlo Usually Once in 5/6 weeks!
When I left school went to work on 2 neighbouring family farms was treated like 1 of there own in for dinner brews etc life back then seemed so much easier some how seems to be a rat race now I vist a lot of farms now as its part of my job it is grand to see a traditional family farm when they have time to talk and put the world to rights but as we all know they are getting few and far between as the need to get big or get out juggernaut roles on

That’s where Grandad comes in 😎 he deals with visitors, has a brew and a chat with them. They leave any information that’s important and he gives it me later. He’s still sharp enough too know when something is a good deal and get it bought at the time too thankfully.

Total cost. £17k down, balance on 36 month 0% finance.
Looked a lot of tractor for the money. It’s so damn simple inside the cab it’s brilliant. I’ve had a gut full of computer screens from the damn Luxxum. Give me levers and gear sticks any day!!
I paid £43k for mine, with 5 years/3000 hours warranty and first 3 services paid for, mines a 95c so 100hp, got air con and eco pto. It was last one they had before add blue so that's another advantage. I only went in for a set of trailer lights (that not even a joke) couldn't believe you could get a brand new tractor for that sort of money.

Yes absolutely but as soon as you try to get everyone on here together to demonstrate we need our output to go up in the same fashion you get pulled to bits

I always think with anything in life, be it business or personal.

No point moaning about it, do something about it to change the outcome.

Definition of madness is doing exactly the same thing over and over again and expecting different outcomes.

Going off on a tangent, but the government, media seem to be doing a great job on keeping a lid on what's going on with food production and cost of living.

We are in a fortunate position, have house that we get with rent of farm. 2nd hand car paid for, no debt. We are seeing quite a big change in our personal financial situation.

I dread to think what's happening to those on the pay monthly treadmill for cars/mortgages etc. Financed to the hilt.

Yet it doesn't seem to be being talked about. 🤷‍♂️

Well what’s happening is some folks are quietly getting out, you can see it here in this area two neighbouring farms decided the cows were going or to be reduced last month. These people are all bought and paid for. Some are selling land. This is really my point there’s sense in demonstrating to the powers that be wether it’s government or processors or whoever that this beef and lamb job will be significantly reduced in output if values don’t align with inputs.
If anyone ever asks again why farmers don’t sell in a united fashion the answer is a few pages back on here
