That's how a COP model works. It's not a market related price.

Cake and eat it?
I’d want to see a lot more detail from Promar on how they think costs have reduced. Kite on the other hand have been banging on all summer about how the COP has been getting towards 50p. One of the companies is wrong!!!

Dont forget Promar are being paid by Tesco to do the work, they‘re not going to bite the hand that feeds them

there is a saying, 'the customer, is always right', might not be completely true, but for promar, their customer is tesco, and one would imagine its a contract they really wouldn't like to lose, are they influenced by their customer ?

you can adapt any set of figures you want, to come up with the answer you want, without 'bending' the truth, by much.

Virtually everybody outside of farming, desperately want's food cost to reduce, for very obvious reasons. What they fail to realise, is the cost of producing it, is rising faster than food cost.
Very certain, a huge % of people, really don't connect food production, with UK ag, also pretty sure you could include a majority of politicians in that, as well.

I find it amusing to watch MP's worm/shout/lie/fight, to become the next tory leader, any sane person, would run away from that. The most almighty shite bag, is going to explode fairly soon, with energy and food rampant inflation, there is one massive muddle, on the cards, and not sure there is a way, to extract our country from it, without inflicting severe pain, to consumers.

I know one thing if prices drop much be a lot of cows on the market. Am I right in thinking cop contracts are based just on feed fuel fertilizer?
Speaking to a mate on cop contract who has dropped from 550 cow to 390 and is likely to drop more, as cow prices to high and he can't get good labour, has Eastern Europe staff at the moment but need to be supervised all the time, as they don't understand cows at all, just here for the money.
