Managed to get the wet turf break away from under one twice. The 0-60 is pretty fenonominal when they go, as is the 60-0 when it tracks off the turf.

They used to have twin wheels on some balers, round here for baling bracken on the hills

From the videos i have seen of alpine grassland farming they do seem to have exceptionally good modern kit.

They must get very good subsidies as i would have thought the risk of farming such steep land combined with costs would make buying the feed in far more attractive proposition

These guys are probably grooming the slopes in winter with the pistenbullies, and born and bred on slopes so it's nothing to them, it's just what your used to.

Yes, can't remember the manufacturer but they make wheel driven chassis and then you can put whatever body you like

we Did dangle a tractor over the side of a hill once. Wasn't a great success as coordinating the 2 Tractors wasn't easy. Ran the cable over a couple of times . Just strapped some more weights on the front of the crawler the next time.

I suspect it was the "ride quality" or lack, that was the issue.

Also, a case of "if you need strakes, the land ain't fit!" This is a flat bit of Shropshire...

I’d rather be going forwards than backwards in a runaway situation with a trailer.
Best to load at the back and push the grass to the front to keep the weight on the drawbar/ rear axle of the tractor.

But yes, I’d stick to conventional, go up empty and down whilst loading, assuming there’s somewhere flat enough to turn at the top of course.

Nobody physically hurt in above accident but very much shaken and shocked. So be careful out there.

At least it has a lower centre of gravity now.

We have a jd 6900 with big tyres and almost full set of front weights. Pulling the baler it will go anywhere you want it.
