Tractor Choice for Slopes

Wow, as a flatlander this video gives me serious anxiety. I'd sh*t myself and pass out on the first quarter of that climb. There isn't enough money in this world to get me to drive on hills like that.
The thing that's in my mind all the time if I am on something silly steep is ,what if something mechanical fails. Any propshaft or hub gears fail with that set-up and he wouldn't stand a chance. Also, when it's very steep all the videos from similar places show small four cylinder tractors ,about 100hp,not much over 4 ton, small valtra a series,Same,New Holland etc.

Smaller the better, mechanicily simple tractors as well., nothing more frightening than a tractor going into neutral, or coming out of four wheeldrive because of oil starvation.
Same's Good in this respect,

For anyone buying a tractor for extreme slopes, it's well worth checking out the slope specification from the manufacturer for the specific tractor model you have in mind.
The slope specification is often different whether you are driving up/down the slope, or across the slope.
In this way you can be sure that the lubrication system is capable of functioning properly and important stuff like brakes systems won't suddenly let go.

We have a jd 6900 with big tyres and almost full set of front weights. Pulling the baler it will go anywhere you want it.

Exactly that, and possibly think where you might end up.
All depends what we are classing as steep. half worn wide tyres are lethal, halfworn thinner tyres not so bad. What I call steep you won't be dropping a bale on..

Have a look at the Massey Ferguson MF3AL series, used to be the 3700 series but got rebranded this year. Seen them with doubles front and back but capable without as well.

Would not say that. My Holder tractor and mountainpress baler can go pretty steep just remember not to release the round bale until your on the flat.
What Holder do you have? I used to have a Holder A60 with duals all round and the post driver on to do all my steep ground deer fencing. Great combination and would go nearly anywhere plus I could put the tractor on the trailer behind my Landcruiser, but not with the post driver at the same time:)
