Best to solder those rather than buying crimp tool.Ā£25 to Ā£50 for the tool to crimp them.

That's the solution, you will only need to join wires instead of messing around with the plug(s)
What was wrong with them ?Be careful with the Amazon ones I bought some as a get me out and they are shite compared to the genuine ones

wouldn't be sure about solder on automotive because it looses its flexibility where the solder runs down inside the insulation?
