Couldn't understand why the cows were bunched up in the corner just before milking ?
Had to go up to fetch them, usually they come to the gate if we're late starting.
It was the only place in the whole field where there was a breeze !

Ours are the same, paddock has trees at the bottom and the cow's are stood out in the heat quite happy in the breeze

We had a run of 5 or 6 in a row from a Genus bull, wasn't fun at all. Don't know if it was just one of those things or a batch problem.

We're about 11 miles inland from Newport
Having an add one at the moment with our calves. Had about 90% heifers off conventional Angus in the last 30 angus. And conventional b&w has given us 3 batches of heifer twins and sexed has given us 1 mixed set (last 4 cows to calve in a row).

Had a Quentin daughter her way wife's favourite. When she took school kids into field she would leave herd to be petted by kids.

Don't know how many of you still use the deosan type of reusable milk filters. I have been looking for a new container to keep them in the filter cleaner between milkings. Mrs hillbily bought this back from IKEA the other day and it does the job perfectly. It a 10 litre bin with lid.

Has anyone used urea as a maize silage additive? It has been suggested to me as a way adding crude protein as well as preserving the silage. It looks like about 5 kg of prills per tonne would be used.
