they say not covered full stop

have been paying a local independent to regas every 6 months

warranty ending soon bought up the issue - can extend for 12 months (circa 5k). ……….. no chance however if stuff that goes wrong is excluded

sounds like i need to talk above dealer level on this
How long was your warranty & how many hours is that extending in it by ?

it has been there from new, dealer knows this, tractor is still under warranty (10 days left so keen to sort this)
First thing tomorrow morning get on phone
to dealer But don’t be polite… kick up almighty fuss then put bad feedback on their website
That’s what I would do but I would have done it long before 10 days of warranty remaining

So your typical agricultural dealer mechanic will fix tractors, combines, drills, sprayers, implements and a host of other bits and pieces. Engines, gearboxes, electrics, hydraulics, bodywork, paint spraying, fabrication and welding. When you can't get your combine, sprayer or drill to work right you will expect the mechanic to come and sort that too. And now he has to be an air con expert too. Problem is they don't get enough practice doing it. Better going to a proper A/C specialist who does that stuff all day every day, unfortunately he won't know how to even start a modern tractor, let alone knowing where to find and how to get to a component like the expansion valve.
In your specific case I would say you need to find a better A/C specialist, your dealer and the manufacturer should understand this and pay for the outside service ( but maybe just the once )

I’m sure it was 1200 to extend my Valtra warranty up to 5000 hours 5k seems extortionate

My concern would be even if something is done now….what would you do if 3 months you found the issue still existed and whatever work was done now (however little or large) still hadn’t sorted it?

Fendt or the dealer?
If it's the dealer, bypass them and escalate it with Fendt or Agco, whoever you can get.
I can't figure out why the AC unit wouldn't be warranty, if the system is sealed properly there should be no reason to regas it, there for there is a faulty part 🤷‍♂️

We had to replace evap on a 1050, and know several others in the states had the same problem, leaking evap....fendt had a bad shipment of evaporaters I believe. Can't remember if ours was covered under warranty so I'm not much help....3 yr /3000 hr warranty from new is bumper to bumper but it doesn't cover consumables....@FendtRunner86 didn't you have to replace a leaking evap on one of yours?

Having never owned a tractor with manufacturer warranty I’m not quite sure of the ins and outs but I wouldn’t think it unreasonable to ask the dealer for a copy of warranty paperwork and get him to show you the bit that says the aircon (which is factory fit) isn’t covered.

i know its a different climate, but here, A/C work is CRUCIAL for any ag dealers. In fact, I would say that the MAJORITY of A/C work would be in the ag / earthmoving / transport sectors

I would generally take a car to an ag dealer for any A/C work, as THEY are the ones with all the experience

In response to the OP question - I CANNOT understand how A/C ISNT included in warranty on a modern tractor with a fully enclosed cab ????
