That sort of premium should be standard on the grid now. E grades should be at least a £1 more all year. 15-20p doesn’t get them any where close to what they make live.

When I was selling dead we were hitting a third E grades. Selling the same lambs live, we’ve never seen anything like £20/hd premium. A fiver perhaps, on a good day.

Those big premiums are very local to you guys in the North, where Viviers choose to go, nowhere else.

Were they dirty? I have a few that are been challenged with cocci on some bad ground but all rest look ok

everything has plenty grass in front of it
Well too much in some cases. They are usually grazing their toenails through April
They are dirty but don’t think it’s worms (do they get dirty with nemo?), very green shite and look good unless you she them from behind. I do coxi the poor and dirty lambs though.

Just wait about a week or so after this rain then you will see a few skitter that’s when to do them or it is here
Jeff Hubbick has done a few and found nemo yesterday it’s earlier than normal but that’s probably due to the rain
I would normally wait until around the end of may if I dare but the weather has been yo yo for last three weeks

some horrendously dirty ewes to crutch too

Send all my lambs on the dead for the last 22 years. The last 3 years all my grades have dropped back a grade, get 2 or 3 E's a bunch now. My lambs are mixed colours so never get on very well live. Graders under pressure to push them back a grade to peg price back but bosses always deny what's going on.

Yes end of May is still early for us but I think it’s going to be early this year. Funny enough I’ve been looking for them being dirty last couple of days so conditions must be good for it. Still lambing so some fragile lambs about to be penning up for us. Worms have been troublesome this last year for us had to go through a lot with zolvix last year lost a few too. Always something
