Yep heard they're going back to buying everything at auction from wool board where they are guaranteed regular quality and storage until they need it.

Looks like Covid hit Texacloth, there will be a story and reasons behind it but the drop in net value for 2020 seems scary

We will have to accept its a waste product and burn it at current prices. It does not pay to employ a wool roller, spend time packing and hauling it in. Push it to one side with loader and burn it. After two of three years with nothing sent in price may come bsck!

Heard on the grape vine, wool price will be down this year as the cost of electricity to process it has gone up so much. So probably best if you burn it.
I'll send my mule and bfl and burn the swale i think, have been sending to DB and they have halved the price for swale to 10p so i got the impression demand isnt going to be as strong.
Makes a mockery of those saying price would mend after covid.

Why don’t you midden it bit of a waste of nutrients. I spread some Welsh ewe wool some one gave me maybe 80 fleeces looking a right sausage when i spread it but it had gone by the following spring

It all depends on what it is and if any effort has been made to improve it.
Most coarse Hill wool has no future at the moment unless there is a move to ban plastic carpets. Listening to the news this morning and virtually every week you hear about issues of micro and nano plastics that are polluting and destroying the planet.

The better quality wools will see an upturn (not enough) as more can be switched to apparel.
There is huge demand and value in superfine Merino at the moment and this will filter down to the better low micron white wools.

I have never known as much interest as there is at the moment for small processors to use wool. In fact larger knitwear companies would like to use British wool but they need it finer and in sufficient quantities to make a line.

Please do roll the fleece and put the Belly wool in as it just slows down the Graders and they will just chuck it all in the lower value bin if they are not able to grade it.

Hate to see it messing the fields up, it wont have much value as a nutrient.
Swaledale has bred the wool off the sheep now so can see why it isnt worth much, some are wondering if theyve taken too much wool off them now which is a contributing factor to them not being as hardy as thry were maybe🤔
