Progress may be quick enough when they're driving, but there seems to be a fair few stops too - as well as the TV stop at the north end of the Dornoch bridge they've also spent a good chunk in the ASDA carpark at Tain and they've pulled off again at Culbokie now. Almost seven hours in with 4 and a half of movement but not yet at Inverness. They've lost the advantage of the quiet roads now too.

I never said traffic would be a problem in scotland, certsinly not at 5 am on a sunday
Can't think of anyone predicted problems that early in the journey.

Bet your a joy to be with on a night out
Orange is good, tbf.

Drove out to watch them passing earlier - very impressed with the set-up. No surprise to see how quickly the queues built up on the single carriageway near Tomatin, but credit where it's due they're making better use of the lay-bys than any vehicle I've ever seen before.

Combines are driven 100s of miles in Australia between jobs. I don't think it will be a issue for combine.

Without the header they are quite compact machines especially with tracks which significantly reduces width.

They did try to get a narrow body combine, but Claas sold it.
My mate and I were out in the late nineties we got directions drove half a day down the wrong road got some bollocking

Friend of mine is doing it the other way on a push bike for sue ryder. Hope the combine doesn’t run him over😀
good luck to them, that's more like it, proper character requiring challenge not faffing along with im the big clever man show off machinery, its so embarrassing and some what ironic how farming has to be portrayed by a big traffic holding up combine .
Walking it would be a darn good challenge too ........but dressed as a Sheep or a Cow :sneaky: (y)
