The prices were grand but only three dairy stock in it. Second calver £1900 and two calv heifers £1500 each. All of them brought out by dealers. I thought strong money compared to milk price.

Seem to be still making that sort of money in ballymena too. Tb probably keeping a bottom in the market.

I’ve surplus in calf friesian jersey cross in calf heifers to sell. They suit me but fully accept they aren’t that popular. Where would be best to sell? Market or done deal etc?

Very strong, wouldn’t be surprised if they had them home again…

When are they due? I was going to head south, they have autumn calvers who have slipped from spring herd but I'd prefer northern if I could get them. Love a jersey cross..not great as heifers but makes a brilliant cow.

Happy at it

I never met him in person but he contacted me in the winter of '17 when I was struggling (mentally) with a fodder shortage. He was a big help. Great fella. Last spoke to him in June. Loved his family. Regret not visiting him. This forum/thread will never be the same.

Funny he took time to message me at a time I was caring for a family member at the end stages of cancer. He was sharp enough to know something, though I hadn't mentioned anything in here. Was very nice of him to take time to message someone who hides behind a silly name, and offer support.

So incredibly sad to leave a young family behind.
