Iv seen masseys that had broke off the shaft, others iv no ideaWhat is the issue with loosing a wheel? wheel nuts or axle problems ? anyone?
I had that happen a 1210 David brown 25 years ago, end broke off halfshaft. I didn't know what had happened!Iv seen masseys that had broke off the shaft, others iv no idea
Valtra has a spacer ring that goes between the rim and wheel nuts. The rim has a recess in its centre and the spacer ring has a corresponding lip that fits pretty much perfectly into the recess. Only it’s not meant to, if put on the wrong way round it works loose over time, stresses and then cracks the dish. Seen it done when changing wheels, not enough attention paid, assumptions made….problems.Valtra can do it just as well as a Deere .View attachment 1132736
Loaded, secured (lol) and driven by the kind of person who wanders round telling everyone, no one has any common sense anymore and we're living in a nanny state.
Too much shoe
Happened on one of our 6480’s many years agoThere seems to be a theme of JDs losing a back wheel like that and I can't recall ever seeing another brand lose them? It is something peculiar to the Deere back axle design?
Was a thing on early 6000 series deeres.paint on inside of rim and on hub it bolted too gradually got worn away due to up and down gear changes on the power quad.paint eventually worn away leading to wheel coming loose and the inevitable happening.spoke to service manager at main dealer about it before fitting duals on a 6900 and was told yes it happened but they did not like to broadcast it.deere being what they are came and removed wheels on tractors and removed paint to cure the problem.john deere have allways been great at this sort of thing, curing issues for customers.hopefully they are still doing soHappened on one of our 6480’s many years ago
