has anyone ever come across or have SPS solar pumps in their farm if so how do you get on with them how far will they pump water and does anyone use any other makes ? looking for a system to get water to more blocks of land without having to invest in bore hole / have no eletric on the block of land , thanks in advance

Saw them first in Ireland some years ago. Neat and rather expensive was my thought.

DIY is the way to go. There is a good thread here on TFF somewhere, on sizing panels and pumps etc.

Have a look on eBay and/or Amazon for starters. The nice thing about building your own, is that you then understand it, and what to do when it goes wrong.... and it will!!

12v water pumps on solar system for cattle

Hello Looking for information on decent 12v water pumps to run on a solar system with a battery. looking for something that will last and with a decent output at between 2 and 3 bar. I can run a couple of these pumps together to get more output. The pump will be sited about 1m above the water...

Have been offered a handy block next door for some cattle, but it has no water. It does have a river but all the banks are too steep to easily get in/out, and apparently whilst Southern Water putting sh!t in the river is ok, my cattle doing the same is frowned on... Anyone have any good/bad...
