Was wondering if he was going to come out with something by now......Has Will Jackson said anything?
sounds to me the proper representative for AHDB made him/herself scarce the day it was to be voted on probably realising it was a contentious issue , (wonder how many other normal reps went missing in action that day ) now some stooge is going to get it for waving though the motion .Because somebody's lying and we need to work out who.
Something I’m also wondering. We haven’t been told who was representing AHDB as stand-in for Tim Rycroft on the 29 Sept. That’s understandable if the representative was a junior employee (obviously junior staff members should not be exposed to the flak over this).sounds to me the proper representative for AHDB made him/herself scarce the day it was to be voted on probably realising it was a contentious issue , (wonder how many other normal reps went missing in action that day ) now some stooge is going to get it for waving though the motion .
Carbon mitigation will be a big issue for those higher up the chain so no doubt they are trying to get their ducks in order before us thickos realise it has any value .
Ahdb should never have approved the GFC, regardless of seniority. The GFC is nothing less than the legalised theft of value from farmers.Sorry; these decisions are for a level above me- I will have to refer them upwards
I’m not sure the AHDB did agree the GFC. My impression is that, at the 29th Sept meeting they were acquiescent in the further development of the GFC, subject to the changes they argued for at that meeting. I don’t think they were expecting the launch the following week. Happy for AHDB to correct me if I’m wrong there @Levy Believer .Ahdb should never have approved the GFC, regardless of seniority. Ahdb is charged with improving the prospects of farm businesses by getting value back to the farm.
Ahdb is funded by farmers and is using those funds (£60m a year) to work against them.

More importantly why wasnt it taken back to levy payers if they had concerns or shared amongst the wider farming community with likes of national sheep / beef association etc we could have meted some defence and at least taken RT to task ? If this type of high-handed approach seems to be they way they conduct business wonder what else we will find in pandoras box ?That’s my take on it.
But since there was never a vote on it, it didn’t matter whether they were acquiescent or strongly opposed because the decision had already been made.
We hear that they (AHDB) had been unhappy about the GFC throughout its development.
Why didn’t they do anything about it?
They could at least have issued a Press statement saying that ‘the ongoing development into corporations utilising (stealing) farmers’ natural capital is not likely in levy payers best interests’.
Because nobody wants to be seen as anti environment, anti nowt zero. The GFC has been carefully window dressed by the retail consortium to look like a positive benefit to our industry, and society in generalMore importantly why wasnt it taken back to levy payers if they had concerns or shared amongst the wider farming community with likes of national sheep / beef association etc we could have meted some defence and at least taken RT to task ? this type of high-handed approach seems to be they way they conduct business wonder what else we will find in pandoras box ?

This and this.If the AHDB really do want to make amends for permitting the retail consortium to plot with RT for profit, they ought help farmers take back control of our assurance, and our enviromental credentials
I think similar.AHDB need to get off the fence. Now. Before NFU reports at the latest. Either they have been blindsided by this almost as much as the rest of us, in which case they should be walking away and encouraging us to do likewise or they are for it and don’t deserve our levy monies.
I'm beginning to think they simply can't process the reality of what's happening here or why we are so angry.Ahdb should never have approved the GFC, regardless of seniority. The GFC is nothing less than the legalised theft of value from farmers.

I think your right , the enviro / carbon / climate change puzzle is very murky many of those voting at RT simply have little understanding of what any of it means or impact on the rural world ,You can bet BRC has wrapped it up with a neat little bow so all fall into line , BRC has had lots of degree , legal advice on how to best make their footprint look good , if only for advertising purposes , all those shelves full of products from around the world (inc plastic tat from china) must be giving them squeeky bum time on how to fulfil their commitments going forward ,I'm beginning to think they simply can't process the reality of what's happening here or why we are so angry.
I say if they haven't sorted it by the end of February the letters go in.
AHDB can't control RT. That's fair enough, they've only a single vote on the board.
Hi graham mc, thank you for another piece of useful information so lets get 5% to vote for for the closure of AHDB! Does anyone know who sits on RT board, who they are supposed to represent & what they actually voted for? One should be able to do a Freedom of Information request on all AHDB decisions which means they would have to provide results within 28 days. Interesting times.ironic that
Farmers can control AHDB they only need 5% call a vote that could put an end to them
they seam to have been drinking in the last chance saloon long enough and have more lives than a cat
