Was offered either that or talisma by agronomist as no longer stock k orbiol.
Checks out
My perception, without reading every last bit of the label, is that K-obiol and talisma are similar and probably slightly safer for the applier and the environment than the actellic which is an OP. However someone with more knowledge may be able to correct me.

Worth a try
Agreed but gut feel is that may only kill a few on the top. Surely the advantage of the bin is that you can fairly easily spray with insecticide as it comes out through an auger/conveyor at a known rate? Also I'm surprised the grain went wrong in the bin, usually they are better ventilated than a flat floor? Any thoughts why it went wrong @Northdowns Martin?

Was the grain dried before it was put in bin ?

bugs in grain silo that has an extraction fan and sealed roof. If I let off a smoke bomb in top of silo with fan running what are chances of it being sucked through grain?
If there is an adjacent empty silo, transfering from one to the other is usually enough to kill bugs. The mechanical damage from the Augers to their skin causes them to dehydrate.

Sucker blowers are another effective non chemical way to control them.

They appear to have died. Managed to get some cold night air through the silo. Will put through the cleaner, hopefully that will be the end.

Best get gone before it warms up again next year, as there will likely be eggs

only gassing seems to kill the eggs.

For notes, kobiol doesn’t penetrate the waxy plug they seal the eggs behind.

This kind of thread seriously worries me. I’m not sure all or any actellic smoke generators are approved for use in stored grain, only for use in empty stores. Please read the directions for use very carefully and only under take insecticide treatment of stored grain if you are qualified.
There’s the potential to seriously contaminate large quantities of grain with some fairly obnoxious chemicals if we aren’t careful and nobody in their right mind wants that.
Just saying. Be careful folks.👍
