We don't want independence. At least there is a 2 party democracy in England can't we just go back to how it was in 1998 before there was a senedd in Cardiff?
We were stuck in Europe until the country had a vote... From everyone I speak to bar a few Welsh nationalist hot heads.most agree that the Senedd is the biggest disaster in living memory for Wales..a referendum now and it could be abolished..

"F##k me pink,Drakey!" "Livin' the dream!"
" Where's my new Polaris and Ridgeline?"
What really annoys me is , with his big ego to be a celebrity.. he's become the spoke 's person for Welsh farming, on GB news anyway... What a contrast with Aled Rees from Cardigan who spoke from the protest in Carmarthen on the Welsh news.. put his concerns and problems facing our industry over.clearly with no showing off no big ego... Just genuine concern for the future of rural Wales and it's people..
That's the kind of guy I want talking out for us...

Give us a brief summary of the key points and any potential further actions
Diolch
The theme was Digon yr Digon, Enough is enough. If you manage to wade through the 71 pages of impractical Janet and John storybook farming consultation paper without screaming, well done. My wife couldn't.
There was a delayed start because of the queues to get into the parking. There were a large number of tractors in the site, most with twin beacon lighting 😀
Nock Deighton deserve a shout out for donating the site.
The two organisers put the whole show on the road within a week. Well done.
It was striking how many young farmers or people from associated industry attended who all have a stake in the future.
I can't remember all the presentations, but the main event was a unanimous show of hands for a mandate for the organisers and others continuing to make representation in addition to that of the NFU and FUW, both of whom spoke from the floor.

Kepak's director from Merthyr laid out the contribution that Welsh meat production has to his business and the employees whose livelihoods depend on it. The impacts on many rural businesses will also lead to job losses.
There was support for the Steel workers losing their jobs because of a foreign owned company making a decision that we will have to import the steel they could still be making. In this case it's the Welsh government pressing the button to destroy the Welsh farming economy.

The NVZ proposals for all the country were condemned as disproportionate as only 8 percent of the country actually needs them.

There were calls to behave responsibly and within the law for fear that more demonstrative protest would be counter productive while the consultation is ongoing.
The local MS spoke with passionate support, but I think he has an uphill battle against the Cardiff Bay cabal.

Some young female farmers also demonstrated that it wasn't just old men in the industry.

Nigel Owens spoke well as a farmer and retired rugby referee.

At the end there was an emotional appeal from one of the organisers who had his little boy in his arms, who was going to be the next generation of farmers in his family.

We got home late.

Totally agree cos at least we had a change of government every so often. one of the best welsh leaders was Rhodri Morgan and he just had a normal common sense approach that looked at both sides of an argument and did what was best for wales, where did that Labour Party go !
we have an academic led cult at the heart of welsh labour at the moment and they just want to push this green anti farming nonsense whatever the consequence and I look on in disbelief !

I wish they'd stop saying how it's going to hurt their " business" and "profit". The public don't support that because they have never had any subs. Ruin somebody's " life" " family" " future" and you get sympathy and support. The argument is the same just a few different words make a massive difference to how the public see the issue. Wales online comments, for every message of support there's another saying " poor farmer ,where's he going to get the champagne in his Range Rover from. Sometimes the man who grabs the microphone at these meetings isn't doing much good

It looks like there's going to be a stitch up for the next Labour leader. The unions are pushing Gething, who only recently affiliated to Unite, and disqualified Miles because he wasn't a union member and didn't know he needed to be. That's 100000 votes in the block vote.

I do think people need to realise that although he’s a bit of a chalk n cheese character and I don’t agree with all he says, but he does a good job of promoting welsh farming and he would give a voice to any farmer on here if they were or are in trouble. he has 2 million people following him and on the whole he has done as much as anyone to help us all Get a voice against this senedd.
i noticed at the Welshpool meeting he tried to keep out of it and I have to say Nothing would of been done without his online presence getting this into the open, remember at the heart of it all he’s a farmer like us all !

I completely agree with you here☝️

Gareth wyn Jones is the one rally the farmers, if you can stomach him that is, keep him away from the media.

Aled Rees is the one you'd send to speak with the media and the AMs down the bay.

Farming: Coffin brought as 3,000 people protest reform plans https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-68232236

The Welsh are mobilising…..tonight 🤔

Big turnout tonight at Camarthen Mart 👍

Unfortunately unless they do it on the m4 just outside Cardiff or blockade the Severn bridges they won’t get any airtime what so ever. Day of a 6N game at Millenium stadium would be good timing……

Not talking about GWJ,just in general. Drive a fendt through Port Talbot shouting that your profit could be down a few per cent and see what support you get. Tell them the Welsh Assembly is ruining your life and future the same as has happened to them and they are on your side.
