with the 3,000 plus jobs lost in steel making, what a joke? While govt, jobs grow? Id like to see, as i keep on saying a politician with the guts, strength, so say, i want to put the UK "first", that means, the uk, is people, its interests first, instead of muddling in , in other countries problems, giving billions of pounds, of aid ( that we havnt got, but have to borrow and thus the UKs debt repayments on its debt are now nearly double what we spend as a nation on defence? Why or why i we spending, worring about migrants, costing what 7,8,9, ? million pounds a day ? when many of these are young men, who hate the wests way of life?

Don't agree with all of that, but most of it is spot on.

However, some things won't make us money and will cost us a fair bit; but they are still worth doing. A couple of examples are Ukraine and disaster relief aid:

Ukraine is bearing the brunt of the work necessary to rein in Russia; if Russia isn't held off there, it will keep pushing Westward, and that really would be our problem and, inevitably, on our own doorstep sooner or later.

'Aid' to incompetent and corrupt pseudo-democracies wherever - but mainly in Africa - really can't be justified, since it merely puts money in the pockets of the corrupt and relieves them of responsibility; it stops these countries having to develop.

But a tsunami, earthquake or volcanic eruption can't be blamed on any human; and people who are in desperate need due to no fault of their own are to be pitied and helped by those who can. I know I'd be very grateful for help in such a situation, if my family was without shelter and going hungry; so I don't begrudge that to others - and I think any who would begrudge it are heartless.

What a depressing read, is it any wonder my son has moved to England and has a well paid job there, he loves the farm but it just can't compete.

In my old job looking after apprentices, I found that all the young men who were fluent Welsh speakers came from an agricultural background. However much the assembly crows about the increases in numbers who speak Welsh, in my opinion, if farming is screwed so is the language. One would have thought that might interest Plaid Cymru!

Yeah, but... you're forgetting the 'creative' types who really hold the culture together...

More seriously, my Welsh is very poor, I can follow a conversation but although I have a fair vocabulary I rarely try to use Welsh because I struggle in it so badly. And that's odd, because I had it at home - in England - until my Mamgu died, and I have picked up other languages pretty well. But, even though I have Welsh saturation here, it just hasn't clicked and won't go beyond a certain level - I had the same happen with Japanese.

That written, all the children are completely fluent, go to Welsh medium schools and, if their peers are anything to go by, the language is in safe hands. Very high proportion of ag kids at the schools though...

Daughter went to Cardiff University, and chose a Welsh speaking hall of residence for her first year, but she said the other day, that everyone spoke English in the halls.

I did my first degree there; one of my friends, who I shall refer to as 'Rob the Gog' - because he comes from by the Mawddach - is Welsher than Welsh in just about every way you can think of, probably including head shape.

On principle, he only ordered in Welsh in the Taf, he dutifully went to Ifor Bach even when he knew it was going to be crap, and he lobbied for lectures in Welsh, and then... he hooked up with a bint from near London and only used Welsh when he had to...

Such is life. 😐

Yah, boo! NFU. ;)

They are running with the hare and hunting with the hounds I'm afraid. The GFC was about destocking too and replacing animal protein with plant.

So either they are muddled, inconsistent or not being honest. And I'm only going on what has been published and proposed from Red Tractor and sanctioned by the NFU top team...

I was just talking to a seed supplier, thinking about Herbal Leys. I wondered if there were any grants for them here in Wales, he said the English and Northern Irish get money thrown at them for that type of thing, here in Wales we get jack all!

Of course you are, because everything has to come back to RT.

Would it really hurt so much to give credit where it's due?
NFU Cymru are holding a series of meetings around Wales, starting in Welshpool next Monday, to engage with members and build a response to this consultation.
Good on 'em I say.
