I’m pretty sure there’s much cheaper 20 year old tractors about with that hp, good luck to those who want to do it but no reasonable business can justify that.Lot of work left in it , and still a good useable tractor , put 10 k of gps valve on it Price up a new one same ,
The main thing letting it down is suspension. Gps is easy to sort but suspension is a bit harder. I wouldn’t pay anything for it with no suspensionI don't really know how you can say that, if i bought that tractor for that money I'd still say it was a good business decision most people requiring the same thing are spending more money just so they can have a new tractor.
It does have one of the best engines made in it, It's the tractor equivalent of a Mercedes om605.
A 6215r is 100k same hours, 6250 be 150k and the only thing that lets the 8410 down is lack of gps and they are not a road tractor. If you had a ring fenced farm I'd have it any day over the modern day equivalent and it would certainly be a good financial decision. Cab is a bit noisey too you can't be on the phone all the time, what a shame. But atleast you're not relying on a computer for it to work.
Got to be a collector or going on a boat though I'd have thought big demand for them elsewhere
What's your YouTube channel called?Automated egg belt control up and running. The cameras all report to an automation PC which then constantly varies the speed of each belt to deliver the right number of eggs per hour to the packing line.
Different flocks seem to favour different nest runs and so it uses machine learning to ‘learn’ what each belt does each day in order to try and accurately finish all belts at the same time. It’s getting better…..

You must have a hen or two…there’s a few omelettes worth of eggs there How long is it running like that for a day?Automated egg belt control up and running. I'd rather have a 6r 250.
In some ways I'd agree . But I'll bet that old bus would pull better and burn less fuel . I've been back on my 2005 jd ploughing the last few days and I'd forgotten how good it pulls and grips compared to new technologies.I'd rather have a 6r 250.

Dunno to be honest. They just seem to be less strangled than they are now . But it's also job dependant the older ones have more low down power newer ones need more revs to get power so revs usually equal wheel slip when going gets tricky.Do you think this is more because the older machines have a better balance in terms of engine and chassis?
Quite often I've been in a modern tractor doing something sometimes very powerful ones and you realise they feel a bit numb- you're isolated from everything because the designers have made it that way? They also have insane engines relative to their wheelbase and I think modern tyres also don't let you have the same feel as 20 years ago?
I think a few are missing the point with that 8410, the reality is where else are you going to find another in that condition with those hours? I doubt it’s been bought as a working tool but more a nice thing to have in the shed/ a fully tax deductible investment of sorts. It’s likely the highest bidder was going to keep on clicking the bid button until he had it and money wasn’t much of an issue for them.
