New Mccormick Tractors

I've got a 2016 X6.420.
When wanting to up shift gears say from 3-High to 4-Low I can only go from 3-High to 4-High and then I have to use the splitter to get down into 4-Low.

Is there any way to overcome this as the revs die off quickly when pulling a load?
I'm assuming you have 3 powershifts on this tractor?

If so it can be altered to make it better, there is a setting in the transmission configuration called 'gearshift memory' When it's enabled if you are in 3rd powershift and you change a range gear using the de-clutch button on the gear stick only it will always drop the powershift one gear so will always move it to 2nd which should then match your speed to change gear. If your in 1st powershift and you change a range gear it will also shift the powershift up to 2nd gear again to match the right speed.

This will only happen when using the de-clutch button on the gear stick and never on the clutch pedal.

It has to be altered by the dealer diagnostic tool but only takes 5 mins to do.

Well, I drove the x6 vt around in a lot, and was very impressed with the smooth response of the trans. So you wouldn't say there's any reports of premature failing cvt units from the 6yrs these are out?

We have 4 X6.440 VT'S out now, between them they will have done over 10000 hrs now with no cvt transmission failures 🤞two with loaders and two without. Oldest one was the 1st one in the UK on a 17 plate and the newest is on a 20 plate.

I did ask previously about this as a fella on an Irish forum done it on a Landini equivalent.
Will have to ask again.
Next one won’t very is problem ! it’ll be a different brand 🤣🤣
It would be a deal breaker for next one. But it will be a long time before we buy another tractor. Tend to hold onto them for a good while as we're not big users.

Guess I'm gonna gamble on the X6.430 VT being a good unit! 2019 with suspension and under 1000hrs will hopefully last me for many years! I'm not worried about the 4.5 fpt doing the job, it's the rest of the unit that needs proving!
