If you think they do nothing, how be you take them off so they're out of the way and see if your perspective changes....
Don't need to, can see the dirt all spattered against the exhaust and tank with it on.
Shouldn't be coming out new like this:

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the mccormick. Got one and likely to buy another. Don't be so defensive, the guards should protect the exhaust and tank.
I should not have to adjust this should all be sorted by PDI at latest.

Why don’t you turn them backwards or add mudflaps to the bottoms. That’s what I’ve done with several tractors. One I had to trim a quarter off its width on the inside to allow the use of full lock as it did not have swivelies. There’s always quite a lot of customising and mods and ad-ons needed on new tractors to adapt them to the particular needs of the operator and this is just one of them.

Have them adjusted now, but not before they caused some problems for the exhaust.
As said above they don't need to be installed with the leading edge much, if any, beyond 12 o'clock.

When the mudguards are fitted in production there won't be any wheels on the tractor, they have probably learnt that if they aim them right forward they won't crash onto the wheels when the wheels are fitted next so won't hold things up. As said its a pdi job to set them right as the wheels are also quite likely to be adjusted in or out or even swapped for bigger or smaller before it gets to a farm so they don't realy matter where they are aslong as there on at this point. The pdi is only as good as the dealer and / or person doing it. 🤷‍♂️

What should the tyre pressure be on a Michelin shod X6 from 2016 for primarily road work. Full set of front weights.
I’d hazard a guess that on average it should be around 22psi. There are a whole lot of variables though and under the heaviest loads the top speed may need slowing down. It’s very like asking what speed you should use. It depends on the load, the road camber. How rough or smooth the surface is and whether there is a bend or not and is that bend on an uphill or downhill slope. Whatever pressure you run at, use your common sense when driving.

At most, 1300G tanker.

I tried to check here: https://business.michelin.co.uk/help-advice/pressure-calculation-tools but i can't get access to it. I watched the Grassmen video with the Michelin man, but didn't know if his advice suited non IF tyres.

What would they be set at for PDI?
Depends if they leave overinflated for transport. Should be a load chart somewhere but you still need an actual weight when loaded. Otherwise it's better to error on the high side than to run them under inflated for the load. Especially for road work

We have 4 X6.440 VT'S out now, between them they will have done over 10000 hrs now with no cvt transmission failures 🤞two with loaders and two without. Oldest one was the 1st one in the UK on a 17 plate and the newest is on a 20 plate.
So I had my new to me x6.430 VT delivered last week.....itching for spring seeding to put it to use. But in the meantime I was wondering how I know if the tractor is running the latest software that McCormick has put out for the vt-drive? Earlier it was mentioned that there was a fix for some surging in the transport speed. Mine seems ok, but sure doesn't hold 50k on a slight grade.
Mcman, do you know what power the 440s were putting out on the pto?
Thanks

Glad to hear you've got it now 👍Think you'll just have to get your local Mccormick dealer to plug into it and check if there's any updates for it.

Only the dealer will be able to tell with a diagnostic computer about the SW versions.
Just from memory I thought the 430 was 130hp on boost at the engine so at the pto I'd guess about 115hp

Best of luck to you, trouble is nowa days farming is a fashion show and if it doesn't look good on twitter etc its a no. Just a thought but could you pull a few strings and get a tractor out on demo to a few of the big youtubers to be able to give their opinion on for thousands to see. We have a local dealer which we buy our pottinger grass equipment from but to be honest they've never even mentioned tractors to us let alone brought is a demo...... they aren't going to sell many sat on their hands!!
